DIABETES

SYMPTOMS:

The organ that is responsible for diabetes is the pancreas.  The pancreas is responsible of regulating the body's consumption of glucose.  To do so the pancreas produces a number of chemicals, including insulin.  When the blood glucose amounts begin to climb, it is insulin's task to stimulate muscle and fat cells to absorb whatever glucose they require for future activities; the liver collect every surplus.

Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose, or sugar levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you consume. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy.

An estimated 23.6 million people in the United States -- 7.8 percent of the population -- have diabetes, a critical, permanent condition. Of those, 17.9 million have been recognized, and around 5.7 million citizens have not yet been identified. Each year, about 1.6 million people aged 20 or older are diagnosed with diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes affects children and young adults and is genetically associated.  Type 2 diabetes takes place in adults and is associated to obesity.

Indications of both types consist of blurred vision, low energy, frequent bladder infections, increased appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, nausea, skin infections, virginity, and vomiting. If not treated, it can trigger blood vessel damage, gangrene , heart attack, kidney damage, nerve damage, stroke and vision problems.

HOW GINSENG CAN HELP:

Ginseng is a popular diabetes treatment that can be used alone or in conjunction with conventional prescription.  Ginseng has been shown to encourage insulin secretion in diabetics, even though the herb does not have this affect on non diabetics.

DOSAGES:

Take 200mg capsule twice a day; or one teaspoon of organic ginseng powder 2-4 times a day.
